Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer, this newly created role is responsible for overseeing key functions of business development, technology delivery and sales leadership across predominantly a Mining, Oil and Gas portfolio of accounts alongside some Infrastructure and Defence customers . The Director, Business Development will track associated markets and trends, grow strategic partnerships and develop and implement repeatable processes for sustained growth. This individual will also work closely with the senior and functional leadership teams, providing key insights and recommendations on how to grow and extend reach across the customer base and into new prospects.
  
  
Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities
  • Achieving and exceeding revenue objectives
  • Identifying and pursuing new business opportunities to drive growth and market share.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with key clients, partners, and stakeholders.
  • Developing and executing sales and marketing strategies to enhance the company's market presence.
  • Recruiting, training, coaching and mentoring of GTM team
  • Build great relationships with those you work with both externally and internally.
  • Provide strategic direction and leadership to the country operations.
  • Develop and implement business plans and strategies to achieve company goals.
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations and ensure the efficient functioning of all departments
  
  
Qualifications/ Experience
  • 10+ years sales experience in Consulting, IT or Professional Services with a proven record of developing and closing new business within the Mining sector. This is essential.
  • Practical and proven methodologies used to break into a target set of prospective clients through various channels including marketing, events, alliances, networking etc.
  • Significant experience working with notable Mining accounts as well as connections within the industry that will facilitate access to clients and opportunities.
  • Experience leading large-scale tenders and RFP processes
  • Commercially focused and pragmatic, able to identify opportunities and propose solutions
  • Data driven and analytical mindset
  • Results-oriented, client focused and obsessed with simultaneously delivering value
  • Self-motivated, adept at working individually and as part of a wider team.
