Responsibilities of the Finance Manager:
- Financial Reporting: Manage the preparation of the group's consolidated financial statements and management reports.
- Compliance: Ensure adherence to statutory reporting, tax regulations, and corporate policies.
- Auditing: Coordinate external audits and liaise with auditors and regulatory bodies.
- Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of finance professionals, fostering collaboration and growth.
- Risk Management: Conduct risk assessments and implement measures to mitigate financial risks.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in preparing budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses.
- Treasury Management: Manage cash flow, banking relationships, and financing arrangements.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive initiatives to improve efficiency and effectiveness within the finance department.
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field; MBA is desirable.
- Professional Qualification: ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent accounting certification.
- Experience: Minimum 5-7 years in finance, with at least 3 years in a managerial position overseeing multiple entities or group companies.
- Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial analysis, and UK tax regulations.
- Leadership Skills: Proven ability to manage and develop high-performing teams of finance professionals.
- Analytical Abilities: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for presenting complex financial data to non-finance stakeholders.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficient in financial management software, Excel, and accounting systems (e.g., Sage, SAP, Oracle).
